Until the great mass of the people shall be filled with the sense of responsibility for each other's welfare, social justice can never be attained.
HerVoice; Motivated by a sense of responsibility of female lawyers to help women who are unable to afford legal services, the foundation is the brainchild of Ele Atawodi. With her experience in rendering pro-bono services, she put together a team of like minds willing to assist in lending their legal expertise to the general public at no cost. HerVoice consists of a strong network of lawyers licensed to practice in several countries around the world including Nigeria, Ghana, UK and various states in the USA.
We believe in the power of Pro-Bono and provide free legal representation to less fortunate and vulnerable victims of human rights violation. This enables access to justice for individuals in need of advice, yet are without the financial means to afford a lawyer and are further ineligible for legal aid.
Founded by a female lawyer and run predominately by female lawyers, our organisation has a strong bias towards the rights of women and children, the abuse of these rights and the promotion and protection of said rights via educational, skills acquisition workshops and campaigns. Additionally, we seek to create awareness on the daily legal issues faced by Nigerian Women such as domestic violence, sexual harassment in the work place, divorce and custody rights.
Through our work, we seek to disrupt the socio-economic rights status quo in Nigeria and trigger a paradigm shift in the social realities of women in Africa through the use of technology and media campaigns.
We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
To re-shape gender inequalities through female economic empowerment
